Michael Duffy will moderate a pre-concert discussion tonight with composers Shulamit Ran and David M. Gordon, and Greg Beyer, the director of the NIU New Music Ensemble, before the New Music Ensemble performs their works. The concert will take place at 8:00 p.m. in the Boutell Memorial Concert Hall, and the discussion will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the same location. The concert will feature Soliloquy (1997) and Concerto da Camera III "Under the Sun's Gaze" (2004) by Shulamit Ran and Apocryphal Dances (2010) and The Serpentine Harp (2007), by David M. Gordon.
The pre-concert discussion is sponsored by the Friends of the NIU Libraries.
