Interesting new titles

This week, the Music Library received two books by two of the world's most noteworthy musical personalities. They are:

Stradivari Quartett has a novel approach to program notes.

Vivien Schweitzer reviewed the Stradivari Quartett's first U.S. performance for the New York Times. She focused her evaluation on the program notes, which featured reports on the provenance of the instruments, rather than vitae of the performers.

George Perle, composer and music theorist, died on Friday at age 93

Allan Kozinn wrote this obituary in the New York Times.

New Reference Titles

Here are some new reference titles from a recent delivery:

This is a guide to music library research, and as such it might be useful to both faculty and students, particularly students involved in one of the music research courses in the School of Music.
