Some Articles from New Grove Dictionary of American Music are now in Grove Music Online

In December, Oxford Music Online announced that 100 articles from the second edition of the New Grove Dictionary of American Music are being added to Grove Music Online. Grove Music Online is now accessible at NIU through Oxford Music Online.

I saw this news on the blogs of the University of Illinois Music Library and the Robinson Music Library at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

You may have noticed that the link to Grove Music Online is missing from the Music Subject Page of the University Libraries' Web site (http://www.ulib.niu.edu/information/subject.cfm?subject=Music). Grove Music Online has been replaced by a new Oxford University Press portal called Oxford Music Online. Our subscription to Oxford Music Online contains Grove Music Online, plus searchable text from The Oxford Dictionary of Music and The Oxford Companion to Music. It will soon be available on the Music Subject Page under "Core Databases." Until then, you can navigate to it by going to the list of all library databases in alphabetical order: http://www.ulib.niu.edu/information/alphadb.cfm.
