Next week, September 27 through October 4, is Banned Books Week. There are many Web sites available that offer information about the event, as well as those that trace the history of censorship and challenges to the freedom to read. The Pelham Public Library, in Fonthill, Ontario, Canada, has put together a nice blog that discusses these issues and links out to many Web sites. You can find it at http://www.pelhamlibrary.blogspot.com/.
Also, I recommend the American Library Association's page on the event at http://www.ala.org/ala/aboutala/offices/oif/bannedbooksweek/bannedbooksweek.cfm.
